Operation Tackle That Bead Stash - February Challenge

I love trying out new colour schemes which I wouldn't have normally considered.

This month I'm joining in with Operation Tackle That Bead Stash - February Challenge

It's colour scheme time and this month we'd like you to create something in RED, BLUE and GOLD! Any shades of Blue and Red are accepted and Gold can be gold coloured and/or metallic.

It's a colour scheme I can't remember using before, so I had a dig around in my stash for some beads to use and came up with this!

Operation Tackle that Bead Stash" - January Take 2

Here's my real entry to "Operation Tackle that Bead Stash" for January.

We're kicking the new year off with a theme and we'd like you to create something INSPIRED BY A SONG.

After my false start with finishing a UFO off, I thought of another song I could be inspired by. This time another "out of the box" song.

"Snooker Loopy" by Chas and Dave!

And this is a double connection to the piece I made because as well as the fact it is a Loopy bracelet, it has a rainbow mix of colours in the chorus.

"Pot the reds then, screw back
For the yellow green brown blue pink and black
Snooker loopy nuts are we
We're all snooker loopy"

Operation Tackle that Bead Stash - January Challenge

I do like the occasional blog challenge now and again so jumped at the chance of joining in the "Operation Tackle that Bead Stash" for January.

We're kicking the new year off with a theme and we'd like you to create something INSPIRED BY A SONG.

After some inspiration from Facebook, and a look at my stash, I decided on an old music hall favourite written in 1907 by John A. Glover-Kindand made famous by music hall singer Mark Sheridan who first recorded it in 1909.

Oh! I do like to be beside the seaside
I do like to be beside the sea!
I do like to stroll along the Prom, Prom, Prom!
Where the brass bands play:
"Tiddely-om-pom-pom!"
So just let me be beside the seaside
I'll be beside myself with glee
And there's lots of girls beside,
I should like to be beside
Beside the seaside!
Beside the sea!

I can't enter this in the competition as it was a UFO but it did inspire me to finish the piece so the challenge did it's job for me.

The picture in the centre is from a tourist brochure from when we went to Ireland for the Solstice last year and it is just a picture of a perfect seaside for me.

Cabbages!

Today was market day for me today. I always trade on a Friday at Coalville indoor market. I trade there from 7 til 3 and try to support the other businesses when I can. So imagine my delight when I saw these beauties on the fruit and veg stall. Spring cabbages! I couldn't resist. But do they end up in the raised beds in the back garden or on the allotment?

Big Updates

So I've been a rubbish blogger lately as it was pointed out to me earlier this week. And it's true but I have a great excuse. I'm not full time self employed and have m allotment too! As well as having a regular stall on a local market, I'm off out at fairs, events, carnivals and festivals most weekends and some weekdays too. And you know what? It's the best thing ever! I have to admit my boss is a big of a slave-driver. (Ie I'm a workahoic who doesn't slow down for much whcih makes me quite tired all the time) but I love it and I took the plunge at the perfect time for me. So there's my confession and I'd love to have you follow me on my journey.
