Handmade Colourful Jewellery

I've handed in my notice and am now full time self employed and loving it. I make handmade jewellery from recycled materials and semi precious gemstones.

I thought I ought to at least mention this on my blog *laughs*

I know it's going to be difficult, but you have to follow your dream some day don't you? And the time for me is now.

My shop can be found at http://www.pookledo.com and http://www.etsy.com/shop/pookledo

My facebook is http://www.facebook.com/pookledodotcom

Knittin' Mittens!

Today I'm knitting in between getting ready for a couple of days away. My other half is stuck on the M1 in a traffic jam due to a lorry fire.

What are you up to today?

Bracelet Making Day

I declared today a bracelet making day.

Last Day

My last day at Beads Direct! My gorgeous pressies, and my very tidy desk.

A Winner!

I seem to have won another prize! I used to enter competitions all the time, but now I don't search them out, but if I see something I might like, or a friend might like, then I enter.

And this time I won a "mystery box" from Becky at "Does My Blog Make Me Look Fat?"

How excellent is that? A few things have gone into my present drawer. Other people do that don't they? I buy or make things throughout the year to give as presents at birthdays and Christmas n case I can't afford one big present or just fancy giving lots of little things. I love wrapping them all up separately so there are different things to unwrap on the day itself.

There are lots of things to spoil myself with though. A couple of yankee candles, some lipsticks, perfume samples, nail varnish and twinkly things. Very nice indeed!

Flower Time

I don't grow many flowers but it seems to be the time for them in my garden at the moment.

Arnold Carnival

Had fun today, even though my neighbours stall was lovely handmade fudge. Off to the same place again tomorrow.

Got to print more business cards again before we leave though. I'm running out.

Baby Boots

These have been sitting on the radiator drying for weeks now. I'm sure they must be dry by now *laughs*

My photo isn't very flattering of them, but the pattern and better photos are available at Ravelry at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pippi-baby-booties

On the Bead Mat Today!

There comes a time when you have to retire certain items in your inventory. I made a gorgeous necklace a long time ago and for one reason or reason or another it never sold.

I didn't put it out for sale often,
It needed to be work to hang right
It never looked right laying in a box

Photo a Day - Oops!

My photo a day has gone slightly amiss I have to admit. A heck of a lot has been going on and I'm been struggling to find enough hours in the day.

I've handed my notice in for my full time permanent job and as of Tuesday next week I'll be working full time on my own business. It's scary but it's what I've always wanted to do so I'm going to do it. Getting plans into place whilst still working full time has been pretty difficult but I have stalls, fairs and markets booked now, and a holiday booked so I'm getting there but something had to give.

I do have a few photos taken in the last week but not one a day. Here goes anyway!

I decided to extend bed one. I was worried that the carpet I was using as a path was an additional hiding place for slugs so took it up and dug the space to make extra planting room.

After I'd dug the whole strip, I put in some tomato plants which were looking decided pot bound. Hopefully these will perk up soon now they have much more room than the little yogurt pots they were calling home

And here's a patch of lovely poppies that get better each year. They re hiding behind the sorting office in Loughborough town centre.

Such beautiful colours!

Photo a day - Sunday - An Allotment Win!

We have progress! The trees are down and after 3 marathon bonfire sessions, the debris has been dealt with. The big logs have been taken by a neighbour to burn (We warned him about the woodworm but he was fine with that) There is a pile of logs to go, but he is going to take more of them, and the smaller ones are going to be used to create a nature site round the back of the shed all being well.

Photo a day - Saturday - Isaac Jacob

I did havea  photo of a scarecrow storm trooper but how could I resist this photo as my photo of the day. He kept trying to stick one finger up at me but I missed it every time!

If you can't guess, todays stall was at a scarecrow festival and hoe down.

Photo a day - Friday - Purple Podded Peas

I follow quite a few blogs. *Waves at everyone who follows me back* so when I saw a competition on Purple Podded Peas and I had to enter. And I won!

And from her blog, here is what it in my lovely package of goodies

An official RHS Chelsea Flower Show Bag and badge,
A packet of Tuscan Salad Mix seeds from the lovely generous Paolo of Franchi Seeds of Italy,
A spool of purple wool twine and a packet of purple podded pea seeds from the delightful Kim of Twool,

and five of greetings cards.

See those amazing cards at the bottom? They are from her own range on etsy. I think I might frame a few of them.
