Knitted Mittens

I bought some lovely hand dyed yarn from Forest Crafters which I just couldn't resist.but to encourage me not to just buy pretty things I decided that I couldn't let myself buy it unless I already had a project for it.

So I decided some lovely fingerless mitts would be the way to go!

Mitts before sewing

Basically I knit a rectangle of the right size and then sew up the seam leaving a gap for my thumb to pop though.

This is nice chunky wool so I decided to go with a K1P1 rib throughout.

  2. Nice one~!
and i like the idea that nothing should be bought unless there is a project for it, i have loads of craft materials at home but didn't touch on them, guess it's time to do something about them :D

    1. I'm trying my best and I think it might be working. I haven't bought much recently and have used a few things up too!

  4. I tend to shop that same way. Create a plan then go find the materials for it. I've been wanting to knit a hat for each of my kids. I FINALLY started my project and I've now realized it's way to big. I love to see other peoples knitting projects. I'm still a beginner.

    1. I've been doing it the opposite way around. I find some pretty and don't buy it unless I can think of a plan for it there and then. I do like my impulse bargains :)
